Responsibilities

MV Transportation is seeking a Payroll Supervisor to accurately prepare and process payroll for all project employees on a weekly basis, provide administrative assistance with employee file information, and prepare monthly reports as required. This position will require working closely with the Operations Manager and General Manager to ensure all project staff hours are processed effectively and efficiently. This position is also responsible for providing administrative assistance to the Maintenance Manager, and other Maintenance Supervisory personnel.

 
Responsibilities: 

  • Enter all payroll information daily in appropriate software, making note of potential pay discrepancies and ensuring accuracy of employee time data. 
  • Maintain accurate payroll template to ensure all hours are paid and accounted for.  
  • Prepare daily and weekly reports for Operations Manager and General Manager comparing revenue hours and payroll hours. 
  • Address employee concerns regarding hours worked, pay rates, taxes, garnishments, and paycheck discrepancies. 
  • Ensure accuracy of payroll accounting in general ledger and monthly financial statements. 
  • Update and maintain payroll related employee file information. 
  • Provide timely updates to employees through memoranda and other means. 
  • Order parts for inventory, out of service buses or special requests. 
  • Manage and process parts cores, as required.
  • Work closely with Parts Manager to ensure needed parts and inventory levels are maintained at efficient and optimum levels. 
  • Conduct cycle counts, inventories and obsolete parts surveys, as directed. 
  • Work closely with vendors and vendor pricing for optimal efficiency. 
  • Submit required reports accurately and on time. 
  • Manage departmental assignments ensuring all items are completed on time. 
  • Other duties as assigned.  

Qualifications

Talent Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent. 
  • Data entry, payroll processing, and clerical experience. 
  • Strong organizational skills. 
  • General knowledge of windows-based computer operating systems. 
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English. 
  • Effective written and oral communication skills. 
  • Strong customer service skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and follow directions. 
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
