Responsibilities

MV Transportation is seeking a FleetMaintenance Manager who will be a dynamic, multi-task oriented senior professional to manage all day-to-day maintenance aspects of this fixed route bus operation. The Fleet Maintenance Manager will ensure that all contractual requirements are achieved, and duties included will consist of daily, weekly, monthly and annual reports. The Fleet Maintenance Manager must be able to properly manage a budget for maintenance program. 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the daily management of vehicle and bus shelter maintenance.
  • Performs diagnosis, examines, and investigates vehicles to determine causes of defective components.
  • Ensures transit asset management software program is current and reports are complete.
  • Ensures vehicle availability to operate services at optimum level.
  • Participates in County audits and reviews.
  • Provides recommendations for new fleet procurements.
  • Provides reports to county regarding all on-board equipment failures.

Qualifications

Talent Requirements:

  • High School Diploma required.
  • Must possess ASE certification with Transit Bus Technician designation.
  • Must possess ASE Preventive Maintenance Technician certification or obtain within six (6) months of hire.
  • Must have CDL class B with Air-brake Testing.
  • Must have Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) Certification.
  • Must have at least five (5) years’ experience maintaining diesel, heavy-duty vehicles.
  • Must have experience tracking parts, inventory, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff in written and oral formats.
  • Must have computer skills, word processing, data entry, spreadsheets.
  • Must be able to work on weekends as necessary to ensure fleet availability.
  • Must have experience managing/ directing 10 plus employees (fleet Technicians/Service Workers/Cleaners). 
  • Experience working with 50 + buses within the last year. 
  • Must be able to manage and interface with client. 
  • Must be able to properly prioritize, implement and manage work schedules, projects and assignments. 
  • Must be able to manage the financial/accounting aspects of a fleet maintenance operation. 
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of staff in written and oral formats. 
  • Must have technical competence with light/medium/heavy duty vehicle repair and preventive maintenance. 
  • Must display initiative, professionalism, candor and tact at all times.
