Responsibilities

The Project Manager – Maintenance Performance will support the planning, coordination, execution, and tracking of maintenance performance initiatives across MV Transportation’s maintenance operations. This role is responsible for managing projects tied to key performance indicators, process improvement, data analysis, reporting, and cross-functional follow-up to help ensure maintenance activities are completed efficiently, consistently, and in alignment with company goals.

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Execution: Coordinate maintenance performance projects from initiation through completion, ensuring deliverables, timelines, owners, and milestones are clearly defined and tracked.
  • Business Analytics: Analyze maintenance performance data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement across regions and divisions.
  • Performance Metrics: Track and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including preventive maintenance compliance, work order performance, fleet availability, cost trends, and other maintenance-related metrics.
  • Process Improvement: Partner with maintenance leadership and division teams to identify process gaps, develop corrective action plans, and support consistent execution of improvement initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Work with operations, finance, procurement, safety, and regional maintenance teams to align project work with business priorities and maintenance objectives.
  • Compliance Support: Assist with tracking and follow-up related to maintenance compliance requirements, company standards, and applicable regulatory expectations.
  • Reporting and Communication: Prepare recurring project updates, dashboards, scorecards, and performance summaries for maintenance leadership and senior management.
  • Risk and Issue Management: Identify project risks, performance concerns, and barriers to execution; escalate issues as needed and support action plans to resolve them.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Maintain effective communication with internal stakeholders to ensure expectations, timelines, and outcomes are understood and achieved.
  • Support the development and maintenance of performance models, tracking tools, and reporting processes tied to fleet maintenance results and operational improvement.
  • Coordinate data collection and validation efforts to ensure performance reports are accurate, timely, and actionable.
  • Assist in reviewing accident, road call, repeat repair, downtime, and other operational data to identify patterns that may impact maintenance performance.
  • Prepare project summaries and recommendation reports that highlight findings, progress, risks, and next steps for reducing performance gaps.

Qualifications

Talent Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in project management, maintenance operations, fleet management, performance management, or a related role.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, timelines, stakeholders, and deliverables in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret performance data and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
  • Excellent communication, follow-up, organization, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, project tracking tools, dashboards, maintenance management systems, and data reporting platforms.
  • Knowledge of fleet maintenance operations, preventive maintenance practices, compliance requirements, and maintenance performance best practices preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP), Lean Six Sigma, or similar certification preferred but not required.
